Peppermint Espresso Manhattan

Yeah you’ve done the Espresso Martini, but what about an Espresso Manhattan?

Together with angosturahouse, we’ve created an easy sipping, holiday inspired cocktail that’s sure to get you through the season. It combines the flavors of cocoa, coffee and peppermint which is then rounded out with sweet vermouth to help balance the bourbon in this recipe. Make sure to put this one up on your menu at your holiday party tonight. Cheers y’all!



ingredients:

  • 2 oz. bourbon whiskey

  • 1 oz. coffee liqueur

  • ½ oz. peppermint syrup

  • ½ oz. sweet vermouth

  • 6 dashes of ANGOSTURA® cocoa bitters

  • Maraschino cherry with a candy cane (Garnish)

Combine all ingredients except garnish and wine in a shaking tin with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour and strain over rocks glass filled with a large cube of ice. Add Malbec on top of the cocktail and let it float to the top of the cocktail. Garnish with whole cloves in an orange twist. Serve and enjoy!

Peppermint syrup: Add 1 cup of peppermint to 1 cup of hot water and steep for 5 mins. Strain water into a saucepan and add 1.5 cups of sugar. Heat on medium until sugar is dissolved. When cooled, store syrup in a sanitized container.
