The Sazerac

Looking for a new classic recipe to try tonight? Why not let Charleston’s own Jayce McConnell show you how to make HIS favorite cocktail - The Sazerac.



ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Whiskey

  • ½ oz. Demerara Simple

  • ½ oz. Herbsaint or Absinthe

  • 5-6 Heavy Dashses Bitters

  • Lemon Twist

instructions:

Pour Herbsaint into a rocks glass full of ice to chill. In a mixing glass with ice, combine rye, demerara, and bitters. Stir both concoctions for 15-20 seconds, then pour the Herbsaint into a sidecar/shot glass - dump the ice from the rocks glass. Next, strain and pour the cocktail from the mixing glass into the rocks glass and garnish with an lemon twist. Serve and enjoy!
