The Dark 'N Stormy
Do you know how the Dark ’n Stormy got its name?
It’s credited to a sailor who saw this drink and proclaimed that it was “the color of a cloud only a fool or a dead man would sail under.”
The Dark 'n Stormy cocktail has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. Legend has it that it was created in Bermuda, where the Gosling Brothers began producing their signature Black Seal rum in 1806. The cocktail gained popularity as a way to enjoy the dark rum, ginger beer, and a splash of lime that make up this simple yet flavorful drink. While the exact origins of the Dark 'n Stormy are disputed, its unique blend of spicy, sweet, and tangy flavors has made it a beloved classic in the world of mixology.
