The Charro Negro is the official #DrinkofSummer2024
Stir with a spoon. Dont @ me.
Its like a highball…but a martini. Listen, I’m a big martini fan - but they are hardly sessionable. This recipe is a bit lighter but well balanced. Give it a try.
Cheers y’all.
introvert but willing to discuss Mai Tai specs.
Here’s my take on a traditional Mai Tai. To me, Wray & Nephew overproof is non-negotiable. It brings that iconic funk that Jamaican rums tend to to lend to tiki cocktails and this one is no exception.
Do you have you own Mai-Tai spec? Whats your take on it?
Cheers y’all.
New recipe, who dis?
This might be one of the best original cocktails recipes I’ve made in a while. It’s perfectly balanced. While the cocktail itself can hold its own, you’ll want to make that foam for that extra layer of flavor and texture. Trust me, it’s worth it!
Hey folks! I’m excited to #partner up with Patron, who has challenged me to create a classic bourbon cocktail for #NationalBourbonDay - but here’s the twist, we’ll be using their bourbon barrel aged Patrón Añejo in place of whiskey.

If you haven’t heard already it’s #BatangaWeek and we’re all here for it.
Cocktails don’t have to be hard and this is no exception. When we were in Mexico last week with @drinkcazcanes, we all fell in love with this drink. The ingredients are simple: tequila, lime and [Mexican] @cocacola. You might be saying, “well Miguel, thats just a tequila-coke…” - it’s not until you add the salt on the rim and IN the glass will this drink just shine. The salt accentuates everything in the cocktail from the agave to the herbal [almost amaro-like] flavors from the soda. If you haven’t had this yet, you need to. I can almost guarantee you already have all the ingredients.
Cheers y’all.
At over 100 years old, the classic Aviation Cocktail is something any home bartender should have in their repertoire. Its sexy, sophisticated and elegant… but don’t let it fool you, it’ll kick your a** and take names.
Read MoreDo you know how the Dark ’n Stormy got its name? It’s credited to a sailor who saw this drink and proclaimed that it was “the color of a cloud only a fool or a dead man would sail under.” Two ingredients. That’s all that’s required to pull off a combo that’s rich, fizzy, sweet, spicy, and satisfying - you’re dang right it’s perfect for this hot summer weather. Cheers y’all.
Read MoreThis late 1800’s classic combines a traditional whiskey sour but adds a red wine floater. It’s as beautiful as it is delicious and its a great gateway to wine drinkers who “hate” bourbon. Give this one a shot!
