The Jalisco Sour

Hey folks! I’m excited to #partner up with Patron, who has challenged me to create a classic bourbon cocktail for #NationalBourbonDay - but here’s the twist, we’ll be using their bourbon barrel aged Patrón Añejo in place of whiskey.

ingredients:

  • 2 oz | 60 ml Añejo Tequila

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Agave Nectar

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice

  • ¼ oz | 7.5 ml Barrel Aged Red Wine

  • Dehydrated Lemon Wheel

instructions:

Combine all ingredients except wine in a shaking tin with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour and double strain over a large cube of ice in a rocks glass. Slowly pour the barrel aged red over the cocktail using a bar spoon. This method slows the pour enough to let the wine settle to the top of the cocktail. Garnish with dehydrated lemon wheel. Serve and enjoy!
