Here’s another twist on an Amaro cocktail from btparsons book, “Amaro” named the ‘Toronto’ — I’ll admit I’m not the most avid fan of Canadian whiskies, but you’ll be surprised what a touch of black walnut bitters, Fernet and demerara will do a cocktail.

I’ll be honest, up until a few days ago, I didn’t know much about either, but luckily, together with my friends at hellograppa, we’re here to get to know the spirit a bit better. We’ll be talking about how to taste it neat, but also provide you with an easy you can make it with using Italian ingredients.
So what is Grappa? The Short answer is: A spirit distilled from grape marcs grown exclusively in Italy (Reg. (EU) 787/2019). In fact, Grappa is not distilled from grapes, but from Marcs. There’s so much more to it though. Grappa can be flavored/aromatic and aged/unaged. The aged variety can be aged anywhere from 12 months to 18+ months in oak barrels imparting flavors of vanilla and fruit, while also mellowing the unaged spirit.
I fly like paper and…
…did you know the Paper Plane was a riff on The Last Word - and it was named after the MIA track… yeah… that one, from Pineapple Express 🤯 Anyway, its one of my rediscovered favorites to make, equal parts and perfect for the summer.
Another two ingredient cocktail? Yes plz.
The "M and M" cocktail is a unique blend of Amaro Montenegro and Mezcal, creating a balanced and complex flavor profile. The bittersweet notes of the Amaro Montenegro combine harmoniously with the smoky undertones of the Mezcal, resulting in a drink that appeals to both Amaro and Mezcal enthusiasts alike. This cocktail is a perfect choice for those looking to explore new and exciting flavor combinations in their drinks.

Together with amarolucano1894, I’ve created a recipe thats sure to warm you right up in the coldest of nights. The recipe combines bourbon, cinnamon syrup, lemon juice and the bold flavors in Amaro Lucano to create a wonderfully balanced flavor that is softened by an egg white (or aquafaba) foam. This one was a treat to make and drink and hope you’ll do the same. Cheers y’all.
see you need a little pick-me-up.
Well you’re in luck, together with amarula_us, I’ve created a coffee forward cocktail that will do just that. If you haven’t heard of #Amarula, its a cream liqueur created from the Marula fruit native to Africa that is aged in French Oak to round out the hints of nougat, caramel and vanilla. All perfect accompaniments to your cold brew or espresso (and/or whiskey). Enjoy and cheers y’all!

Is #AmaroAfternoon a thing yet? Because it should totally be a thing.
I feel like I struck gold with this recipe, its light and refreshing afternoon sipper. The herbal/bitter/fruity rhubarb notes in Zucca Rabarbaro play along well with the sweetness of the pineapple and acidity of lemon making this the perfect way to kick off your weekend.
What better combo than an Irish Whiskey with notes of light notes of oak, vanilla and caramel to pair with coffee, chocolate and mint for my take on a traditional Grasshopper cocktail. I really enjoyed making this one and hope y’all try it out!

Read MoreI’m excited to create a custom cocktail recipe using their unique whiskies finished with a charred oak spiral. Each spiraled shaped oak stave provides a one-of-a-kind flavor profile to the whiskey and imparts an aromatic finish to every bottle. The specific oak spiral in this rye adds notes of smoke, caramel and coffee which pairs perfectly with the flavors in this Amaro and is accentuated by the coffee bitters. Check out the recipe below!
