Mare-ly Perfect Ride

Mare-ly Perfect Ride by Caroline Woodruff
This idea comes from a Paddock, which is an area for horses to graze in after a big day.  I wanted to really show off saddled leather and grassy notes from a split of dry vermouth for my take on a Boulevardier.  It’s easily one of my favorite cocktails to have many adaptations of, this one is a bit lighter, while the bitters let it run in a different strong direction.

The Brown Derby

Hope y’all are staying healthy! For those of you cooped up at home and have been asking for some easy cocktail recipes, I have some exciting news! I’ve yet again #partnered up with @cooperscraft to highlight some of the talented mixologists in Charleston, SC. In this five part series which I’m dubbing #CocktailsAtHome, each mixologist will be creating a bourbon cocktail from scratch that you can easily recreate at home. Now let’s get started shall we?

First up on this series is Anna Lazaridis (@annathegreek83) of Charleston, SC with a classic Brown Derby cocktail, its strong, tart, and sweet - or as Anna puts it: “With the sweetness of the honey and the tartness of the grapefruit, the Brown Derby is an excellent example of a simply well balanced cocktail. I incorporated thyme into the honey because we seem to have a lot of that on our hands😉” #pungame💪🏼

Barrel Aged Boulevardier

Have you ever wondered how to barrel age a cocktail at home? I’m excited to once again #partner up with Cooperscraft to show y’all how to do so! The barrel aging technique is not only a tried and true way to batch a cocktail, it’s also a great way to add a subtle toasty flavor while mellowing a cocktail to create a perfect balance of flavors. The instructions are simple and the hardest part will be waiting for the cocktail to age without wanting to have more than one sample. .
Note that not all barrels are created equal, so the recipe is split into equal parts instead of exact measurements. Make sure to read the barrel preparations from your manufacturer before the barrel aging process as those instructions can vary per manufacturer as well. Enjoy!

Cinnamon Toast Milk Punch

Let’s try this again, shall we? 🥣

Cinnamon Toast Crunch… but make it drinkable.

Who doesn’t love CTC?? I figured it would be fun to try to recreate it into cocktail. I’m going to make two versions and this is the first rendition - a traditional milk punch with actual cream. The addition of biscotti liqueur here adds that sweet bread flavor that you typically get from French toast so I figured it would be fitting… and guess it what, it actually works. Give this one a try…

Anyone have any guesses on the second version of this cocktail??

Jumbo Old Fashioned

Anyone know where to get jumbo sized cherries? Asking for this jumbo-sized Old Fashioned 🍒😂

This may or may not be an #aprilfools joke but this is a great recipe for a BATCHED Old Fashioned. Just mix the ingredients below with ice and strain into a serving vessel of your choice. If you’re serving for a later date, add 4 oz of filtered water and throw that bottle/container in the fridge or freezer until you’re ready to serve. Serve over a large ice cube and garnish with an orange twist and maraschino cherry (optional).

Disclaimer: Please drink responsibly and don’t try to drink this entire thing by yourself in one sitting.

The Cooper’s Smash

Are y’all enjoying these #CocktailsAtHome recipes yet? This next @cooperscraft cocktail recipe is not only easy to make but is easily batched and is extremely enjoyable and refreshing to sip on. Its perfect for sitting out on the porch on those warm spring nights.

Next up on the #CocktailsAtHome series with @cooperscraft is Jayce McConnell (@derekthedreaded) of Charleston, SC: “The great thing about this is you can make several jars ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to a week, so if you have more fruit than you want to eat you can put it to good use!”
.
A portion of the proceeds for each bottle sold will benefit The Bee Cause Project which works to support the health of honeybees in the Southeast by increasing the number of hives in the region and helping to educate the public on their importance. Now get out there and support the cause!

Twelve Mile Limit

So I can’t be the only one that gets lost down the rabbit hole that is @youtube.

My favorite genre of videos are any of those that I can learn from. I recently was looking for some inspiration for a Repeal Day cocktail and stumbled across @how2drink. If you haven’t checked out Greg’s channel, you absolutely should - its educational and super entertaining.
Anyways, I made this pre-Prohibition cocktail based on his recipe and you can bet it won’t be the last one I make from his channel - I’ll post the link in my stories #videographygoals

Panela old Fashioned

The holidays always remind of the fall/winter flavors and spices that go into everything we eat and imbibe during the season. I recently #partnered up with 1792 bourbon to create a custom cocktail that will tie in all these flavors into a simple cocktail… Can you keep a secret? It has to do with the spiced panela syrup. Infused with flavors that remind me of fall and winter, it ties in well with 1792 Bourbon due to the bourbon’s high-rye content and spice-rich notes, alongside vanilla and caramel. Check out the recipe below and let me know what cocktail reminds you of the holidays! #1792 and #1792Bourbon
